Short Week Oct 11-13

We only have class Monday through Wednesday. Wednesday is a short day so the students will be dismissed at 1:55p.m. Students will return to school on Tuesday October 19th. That week will be Spirit Week and on Tuesday students wear red to show their school pride.

Math: Students will have math homework Monday and Tuesday of this week. We are working on 3 digit by 2 digit multiplication. After the break we will move onto division. Make sure that your child knows their multiplication facts. You can buy multiplication cards at the dollar store or make them to practice with.

Writing: We are finishing our Haunted House for Sale persuasive papers and monster descriptions.

Reading/Language: We are focusing on supporting details and subject pronouns. Students are now recording their reading minutes in a folder. Instead of writing the number of days read, students need to write the total number of minutes read each day and the total for the week. Each Friday students will bring this folder home for you to sign. Weekly reading minutes are due every Tuesday.

Social Studies: We will be talking about Roanoke Island, New France, and Jamestown.

Biztown: Students received their jobs on Monday. They received a parent volunteer note and lunch count paper. If you want to volunteer, please read, sign, and return the blue paper as soon as possible.
