This week we are taking the IOWA tests. These are timed tests in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. If possible, please try to attend every day this week.
Math: This week we are covering decimal subtraction, exponents, and story problems. We will also be reviewing for our unit math test and district exam. Students will take the unit test on September on Tuesday September 28 and the district test on September 29th. Students can receive permission to bring home their math book in order to study for these tests if you believe that would be helpful.
Writing: We are still working on the format to writing persuasive papers. Students will be doing all writing in class.
Language: We will be covering nouns, proper nouns, plural nouns, and irregular nouns. All language will be done in class.
Reading: There will be no reading groups this week due to IOWA testing.
Social Studies: We will be talking about Magellan, The Conquistadors, and Spain's Empire. All work for Social Studies will be done in class.
Spelling: The spelling packet was sent home on Monday and is due Friday. Students will be tested on all 20 words Friday. The spelling words for this week are: October, Thursday, January, February, Monday, March, April, November, June, Wednesday, August, September, Tuesday, Sunday, July, Friday, December, May, Saturday, and St.
