March 1-5

Math: We are continuing our unit on fractions. Monday 7-6, Tuesday 7-7, Wednesday 7-8, and Thursday 7-9. Each night students will have math homework.

Writing: Students will be taking the DWA state-wide writing assessment this Wednesday. The highest score they can get is 30. They need a score of 15 to pass.

Reading: Students should finish reading their book report books by Thursday. They will then write a 5 paragraph persuasive paper, following the four-square writing method we have been learning in class, about why we should or should not read the book.

Science: We will be finishing up our Chemistry unit this week and will take the Chemistry test next week sometime. Students have a study guide. If they know the material on the guide, they will do well on the test. The 3rd and 4th science experiments are due on Wednesday the 3rd.

Social Studies: We are beginning our unit on the West. We will be learning about people such as Daniel Boone, Lewis and Clark, and Thomas Jefferson. We will discuss the Louisiana Purchase, frontier travel, the War of 1812, and the Star-Spangled Banner.

P.E.: We will be starting a dance unit this Thursday. Tuesdays are always fitness days. Students should wear shoes they can run in.

Parent-teacher conferences are this Wednesday 4:30-8pm and Thursday 3:30-7pm. Please schedule time to come one of these two evenings.
